In a list of points, ပြီးတော့ means "and also": ဒီအခန်းက ကျယ်တယ်။ ပြီးတော့ ဈေးလည်း ချိုတယ်။ (This room is big. It's cheap, too.)

How It Works

ပြီးတော့ joins two whole sentences. The first sentence ends with its own ending and ။, and the next one begins with ပြီးတော့.

It has two meanings. In a story or directions, it means "and then": ပုဂံကို သွားမယ်။ ပြီးတော့ အင်းလေးကို သွားမယ်။ (We'll go to Bagan, and then to Inle Lake.)

In a list of points, it means "and also, on top of that". Add လည်း (also) to the second sentence: ဈေးလည်း ချိုတယ် (it's cheap, too).

People also put ပြီးတော့ after a verb inside one sentence, where it means the same as ပြီး: စားပြီးတော့ အိပ်တယ်။

In writing, "and then" at the start of a sentence is ထို့နောက်.

    ပြီးတော့ starts the second sentence.
