देखाउब / सुनाउब
Showing and Telling
देखब gives the cause form देखाउब (show), and सुनब gives सुनाउब (tell).
How It Works
"See" and "hear" form their cause verbs just like पढ़ाउब, and they are worth learning on their own.
| Base | Cause form |
|---|---|
| देखब (see) | देखाउब (show) |
| सुनब (hear) | सुनाउब (tell, sing to) |
The person who gets to see or hear takes का; the thing shown or told is the object: नेहा सबका फोटो देखावत अहै (Neha shows everyone the photo). The -त form keeps the व: देखावत, सुनावत.
The command forms are देखाव and सुनाव for तुम: हमका आपन घर देखाव (show me your house).
These two are very common in everyday speech. A song, a story or a piece of news is सुनाउब, and a picture, a house or a place is देखाउब.
