ওপৰত is “above, on”, and তলত is “below, under”.

How It Works

The pair works like the other place words: the noun takes -ৰ, and the place word stands apart. Both end in -ত “at”.

ওপৰত covers both “on” and “above”. কিতাপখন টেবুলৰ ওপৰত আছে says the book is on the table, and বেলি মোৰ ওপৰত আছে says the sun is above me.

After a pronoun, use the -ৰ form: মোৰ ওপৰত, তোমাৰ তলত.

Add a verb of place such as আছে “is” to finish the sentence.

কিতাপখন টেবুলৰ ওপৰত আছে।
The book is on the table.
টেবুলৰ ওপৰত means “on the table”.
