চোন
Please: -চোন
Add -চোন to a request to soften it: আহকচোন “please come” and বহকচোন “please sit”.
How It Works
-চোন is a small ending that makes a request sound warm and soft. Write it joined to the verb.
| Verb | For আপুনি | For তুমি |
|---|---|---|
| আহ come | আহকচোন | আহাঁচোন |
| বহ sit | বহকচোন | বহাঁচোন |
| এৰ leave, let go | এৰকচোন | এৰাঁচোন |
It also follows a longer request: ৰফিকুলক কওকচোন “please tell Rafiqul” and বিলখন দিয়কচোন “the bill, please”.
আহকচোন invites someone in and বহকচোন offers a seat. In a shop, বিলখন দিয়কচোন asks for the bill.
The verb part is the usual request form. আহক and আহাঁ are the plain requests, and -চোন goes on after them. Nothing else in the sentence changes.
