Say:
ক “say” gives মই কওঁ, তুমি কোৱা and সি কয়; the negative is নকয়.
How It Works
The verb ক is used to say things, to tell things and to speak a language.
| Person | Form | Example |
|---|---|---|
I say” |
“what do you say?” |
“what do you say?” |
The negative is মই জাপানী নকওঁ “I do not speak Japanese”, মই ৰাতিপুৱা বেছি কথা নকওঁ “I do not talk much in the morning” and সি ইংৰাজী নকয় “he does not speak English”.
The friendly command is কোৱাঁ, with a nasal mark, as in কথা কোৱাঁ! “speak!”.
The same stem appears in the future, as in ক’ব “will say”.
