ichida
Inside
ich means the inside. ich + -i + -da → ichida: Sumka ichida nima bor? (What's inside the bag?)
How It Works
ichida works like the other place words: first the noun, then ich with -i and a case ending.
- Inside a thing: quti ichida (inside the box), uy ichida (inside the house).
- Within a time: bir soat ichida (within an hour), bir oy ichida (within a month). The time phrase takes no -da of its own.
- Among people: doʻstlar ichida (among friends). For among, orasida is also common.
Into and out of. Change the last ending: Kalitni sumka ichiga soldim (I put the key into the bag), Quti ichidan kitob oldim (I took a book out of the box). See koʻmakchi ot + kelishik.
ichida or -da? Most of the time -da is enough: Men uydaman (I am at home). Choose ichida when the inside matters, for example to contrast it with outside: Uy ichida issiq (It is warm inside the house).

Common Mistakes
Adding -da to the time as well.
Bir soatda ichida qaytaman.Bir soat ichida qaytaman.ichida already carries the -da. The time phrase before it stays bare: bir soat ichida.
Using ichida with a verb of putting in.
Kalitni sumka ichida soldim.Kalitni sumka ichiga soldim.solmoq (to put in) needs the place the thing goes to, so use -ga: ichiga. ichida only says where something already is.
