How It Works

A group phrase can make the comparison explicit: ان کمروں میں means among these rooms. Without one, the surrounding conversation supplies the group.

The adjective still agrees with its noun. سب سے does not force an unchanging masculine adjective.

Distinguish the comparison from ordinary سب سے meaning with or from everyone. A following degree or quality makes the comparative structure clear.

ان کمروں میں یہ سب سے روشن ہے۔
Among these rooms, this one is the brightest.
The first phrase identifies the comparison group.
یہ سب سے چھوٹی چابی ہے۔
This is the smallest key.
Feminine چابی selects چھوٹی.
یہ سب سے سستا بستہ ہے۔
This is the cheapest bag.
Masculine بستہ selects سستا.
ان تین تھیلوں میں اس کا وزن سب سے کم ہے۔
Of these three bags, this one weighs the least.
سب سے کم marks the low end of the weight comparison.
