-تا / -تی / -تے + ہوگا
Inferring a Habit
Keep habitual aspect visible in the first participle.
How It Works
The habitual participle and auxiliary follow the unmarked subject. With a feminine subject, use a phrase such as پڑھتی ہوگی.
Contrast پڑھتی ہوگی with پڑھ رہی ہوگی. The first concerns a habit or regular activity, while the second concerns an activity in progress.
The relevant period comes from context. Do not assume every such sentence describes the future simply because the auxiliary ends in گا، گی or گے.
Examples (4)
- بلال روز پیدل آتا ہوگا۔
Bilal probably comes on foot every day.
روز helps establish an inferred routine.
- مریم شام کو کتابیں پڑھتی ہوگی۔
Maryam probably reads books in the evening.
The phrase suggests a usual evening activity.
- بچے یہاں اکثر کھیلتے ہوں گے۔
The children probably play here often.
اکثر and the habitual form describe repeated occasions.
- آپ اتنی صبح کام شروع کرتے ہوں گے۔
You probably start work this early.
The respectful form makes an inference about the listener’s routine.
How It Connects
Learn This First
Recognize a habitual pattern of activity. Use ہوگا as an inference rather than only a future time marker.
