How It Works

In مریم غلط نمبر لکھ بیٹھی, the compound presents the writing as a regrettable mistake. Masculine نمبر does not determine بیٹھی; Maryam does.

The speaker’s attitude matters. The same action can be reported neutrally with another construction or presented as ill-judged with بیٹھنا.

Do not use the bare English meaning “sit” to translate these combinations. Nor does the form guarantee an accident; a person may deliberately act in a way the speaker considers unwise.
