جس کا ... اس کا
Connecting Possession Across Relative Clauses
Whose thing it is → that person’s role in the main clause.
How It Works
جس کا, جس کی, and جس کے connect a singular relative participant to a possession. The ending agrees with the possessed noun, not with the person who owns it. جن gives a plural relative participant.
The following reference takes whatever form its own clause needs: اس کا, اس کی, اسے, or another appropriate form. There is no requirement to repeat the same case marker in both clauses.
Keep the two agreement decisions separate. A person can own a feminine چابی while being referred to with اسے as the recipient of a request.

- جس کا کام مکمل ہے، اس کا نام فہرست میں لکھ دیجیے۔
Write the name of whoever has finished their work on the list.
کام and نام separately control the two masculine genitives.
- جس کی چابی گم ہو گئی ہے، اسے میرے پاس بھیجیے۔
Send the person whose key has been lost to me.
کی follows feminine چابی; the main clause needs اسے.
- جس کے بچے یہاں پڑھتے ہیں، اس سے بات کیجیے۔
Speak to the person whose children study here.
Plural بچے gives کے, while بات کرنا uses سے in the main clause.
- جن کی درخواستیں منظور ہو گئی ہیں، ان کو اطلاع دے دیجیے۔
Inform those whose applications have been approved.
جن and ان refer to multiple people; کی follows the applications.
