Verb + ทิ้ง
Do It and Be Rid of It
Verb + ทิ้ง can describe discarding or removing something. Read the complete phrase; it does not mean that the object can never be recovered.
How It Works
Read the Disposal:
ลบเบอร์เขาออกทิ้งไปเลย urges deleting his number. เททิ้ง describes disposing of the leftovers. ตัดเนื้อร้ายทิ้ง describes a doctor recommending removal of malignant tissue in the example; it is not advice to the learner.
Read the Whole Expression:
กินทิ้งกินขว้าง describes wasteful eating. เขาโยนจดหมายฉบับนั้นทิ้งไปแล้ว says that he has already thrown the letter away. Neither statement proves an irreversible result.
Read Object Position:
In the letter sentence, จดหมายฉบับนั้น comes before ทิ้ง. Other constructions can arrange a longer action phrase differently. Do not assign a single word order from a formal-versus-casual rule alone.
Leaving and Forgetting:
ฉันทิ้งร่มไว้ที่บ้าน says the umbrella was left at home; intention needs context. ฉันลืมร่มไว้ที่บ้าน explicitly says the speaker forgot it there. Compare ไว้ and ไป in their own complete examples.
