Fact: خسته بودم + unexpected result: رفتم.

How It Works

Accept the difficult fact. با اینکه خسته بودم، رفتم asserts past tiredness. The main clause asserts going. The point is their unexpected combination, not uncertainty about whether tiredness occurred.

Recognize another connector. هرچند راه دور بود، پیاده رفتیم presents the distance and the decision to walk. هرچند in this concession is a complete connector; it is not a question asking how many.

Keep subjects and times independent. با اینکه او فارسی نمی‌داند، با ما صحبت کرد connects the stated current lack of Persian knowledge with a past conversation. The clauses need not share a person or one tense.

Compare a hypothetical obstacle. حتی اگر خسته باشم، می‌روم can mean that going will still happen in the possible tiredness scenario. It does not itself assert current tiredness. Do not erase this difference by translating both constructions as although.
