de Before a Plural Adjective

Level 3

De comes before a plural adjective: de bons amics, de bèlas jornadas.

How It Works

PatternExample
noun aloneAi d'amics a Tolosa.
adjective firstAi de bons amics a Tolosa.
feminineJoan cròmpa de bèlas flors.
after pasAi pas de bons amics a Albi.

The adjective agrees with the noun in gender and number: bons for a masculine plural, bonas for a feminine plural.

With a definite article, de is replaced: los bons amics, las bèlas flors. The pattern with de is for something indefinite: some good friends, beautiful flowers.

The word autres follows the same rule: Joan a d'autres amics a Rodés.
