सहित

Together with in Formal Writing

Level 5Sounds Like sahita

सहित names a person or thing that comes along. It is one word with the noun.

How It Works

The word सहित is a formal form of together with. It names something or someone who comes along or is included, and it is written joined to the noun.

NounWith सहित
परिवारपरिवारसहित
शिक्षकशिक्षकसहित
नक्साहरूनक्साहरूसहित

It can join people or things: परिवारसहित पोखरा गए (went with the family), कागजातसहित आवेदन दिनुहोस् (submit the application with the documents).

In speech people use सँग or साथ: परिवारसँग. सहित is for formal speech and writing. It never changes form.

The same word can join the plural हरू first and then सहित, as in साथीहरूसहित. Use सहित when the person or thing really comes along or is counted in, and use बाहेक when it is left out.
