पाइन्छ

Saying What Is Available

Level 4Sounds Like pā'incha

पाइन्छ shows that something is available.

How It Works

पाइन्छ comes from पाउनु (to get) and the passive ending -इन्छ. It says that a thing can be had, found or bought in a place. The person who buys is not named.

  • यहाँ चिया पाइन्छ (tea is available here).
  • यहाँ टिकट पाइँदैन (tickets are not sold here).

Because the thing is the subject, the verb does not change for a person. A plural thing usually keeps the same form: बजारमा ताजा तरकारी पाइन्छ.

Ask with a question word: यो औषधि कुन पसलमा पाइन्छ? (which shop sells this medicine?). Use पाइन्छ for what is for sale. Use छ for what you simply have.

Common Mistakes

    यहाँ चिया पाइन्छ।

The active verb needs a doer, so use the passive पाइन्छ.
