कुनै

Any and Some

Level 3Sounds Like kunai

कुनै is some or any.

How It Works

कुनै means some, any or a certain. It comes before the noun and does not change.

  • In a statement it means some: कुनै दिन म तपाईंको घर आउँछु (some day I will come to your home).
  • In a question it means any: के तपाईंसँग कुनै प्रश्न छ?
  • With पनि it means any at all: कुनै पनि दिन.
  • In a negative sentence it means none: कुनै समस्या छैन.

Do not mix कुनै with कुन. कुन asks which one: तपाईं कुन दिन आउनुहुन्छ?

On its own, कुनै needs a noun after it. To stand alone, use कोही for people and केही for things. The one exception is कुनै पनि, which can stand alone: कुनै पनि आएनन्.
