दिनभरि

All Day and All Night

Level 3Sounds Like dinabhari

भरि means all through a stretch of time.

How It Works

भरि means all through. It joins the time word before it and makes one word:

WordMeaning
बिहानभरिall morning
दिनभरिall day
रातभरिall night
हप्ताभरिall week
वर्षभरिall year

It works with any tense: रातभरि पानी पर्‍यो (it rained all night), म वर्षभरि नेपाली पढ्छु (I study Nepali all year).

The time word stays plain, with no postposition. Say दिनभरि, not दिनमा भरि. For a part of a day, use the matching word: बिहानभरि is all morning and बेलुकाभरि is all evening. The verb usually shows an action that keeps going, such as work, rain, study or play.
