Level 2Sounds Like nēhamī / rōja / kadhī kadhī

नेहमी means always, रोज means every day and कधी कधी means sometimes.

How It Works

For a habit in the present, use the simple present with these words: -तो, -ते or -तात.

WordMeaningExample
नेहमीalwaysमी नेहमी चहा घेतो.
रोजevery dayमी रोज चालते.
कधी कधीsometimesआम्ही कधी कधी भेळ खातो.

कधी कधी is two words, and each one is written separately.

The frequency word usually stands right before the verb or after the subject. Time words can come first: आजोबा रोज सकाळी बागेत जातात.

The verb ending shows who does it. A man says मी नेहमी चहा घेतो, and a woman says मी नेहमी चहा घेते. The frequency word does not change.

To make a sentence negative, add -त नाही to the verb: मी रोज चालत नाही. (I don't walk every day.) To say never, use कधीच नाही, which is a separate pattern.
