Together with

Level 2Sounds Like tan ertad

Add -თან to a person, then ერთად, to say together with them.

How It Works

To say who you do something with, add -თან to the person and put ერთად (ertad, together) after it.

PersonTogether with

After a consonant, -თან goes straight on the stem (მეგობართან). After a vowel, the dative -ს stays (დედასთან).

English uses with for two different ideas. With a person you are with, use -თან ერთად. With a tool you use, use -ით: კოვზით (with a spoon).

ერთად can also stand alone: ჩვენ ერთად ვცხოვრობთ (we live together).

Examples (4)

I'm going to the market with my mom.

Giorgi plays football with his friends.

-თან goes on the plural: მეგობრებთან.

Will you come with me on Saturday?

    With me: ჩემთან ერთად.

    We live together.

    ერთად alone means together.

Common Mistakes

  • Using -ით for a person, as with a tool.

-ით is for tools and transport; for a person, use -თან ერთად.
