How It Works

NounWith -თანMeaning
ექიმიექიმთანat the doctor's
მეგობარიმეგობართანat a friend's
ნინონინოსთანat Nino's
დედადედასთანat mom's, with mom
ფანჯარაფანჯარასთანby the window

With a person, -თან means at their place: ბებიასთან ვარ (I'm at grandma's). With a verb of going, it means to that person: ექიმთან მივდივარ (I'm going to the doctor).

With a thing, it means near or by: ფანჯარასთან (by the window).

With verbs of talking, it means with: ნინოსთან ვლაპარაკობ (I'm talking with Nino).

Watch the -ს after a vowel. -ში and -ზე drop it (დედაზე), but -თან keeps it (დედასთან).
