-ში (In Two Hours)
In Two Hours
-ში after a stretch of time means in that much time, or per.
How It Works
| In how long | How often |
|---|---|
| ხუთ წუთში (in five minutes) | დღეში სამჯერ (three times a day) |
| ერთ საათში (in an hour) | კვირაში ორჯერ (twice a week) |
| ორ თვეში (in two months) | თვეში ერთხელ (once a month) |
As with any -ში, the number before the noun loses its -ი: ორი საათი, ორ საათში.
In how long goes with the future, or with the present for a plan: ათ წუთში გავდივარ (I'm leaving in ten minutes).
In writing, the number is often in digits: 10 წუთში. Read it the same way: ათ წუთში.
To count from a time in the past, use -ის შემდეგ (after): ორი საათის შემდეგ დაბრუნდა (he came back two hours later).
