Bringing Things and People
Bring is მომაქვს for things and მომყავს for people and animals.
How It Works
| Person | Bringing a thing | Bringing a person or animal |
|---|---|---|
| I | მომაქვს (momakvs) | მომყავს (momq'avs) |
| you | მოგაქვს | მოგყავს |
| he, she | მოაქვს | მოჰყავს |
| we | მოგვაქვს | მოგვყავს |
These are present forms: I am bringing, or I bring. The bringer is in the dative: დედას ბავშვი მოჰყავს (Mom is bringing the child).
Swap მო- for მი- when you take something away from here: ბავშვი ბაღში მიმყავს (I'm taking the child to kindergarten).
The future and the past use other stems and the usual cases. For things: მოვიტან (I will bring), მოვიტანე (I brought). For people: მოვიყვან, მოვიყვანე. In the past, the bringer takes the ergative: ნინომ ტორტი მოიტანა (Nino brought a cake).
