ისეთივე ..., როგორც
As ... as
ისეთივე ..., როგორც compares two things that are the same: as ... as.
How It Works
| Pattern | Example |
|---|---|
| ისეთივე + describing word, როგორც | ისეთივე მაღალია, როგორც მამამისი. (He's as tall as his father.) |
| ისეთივეა, როგორც | ისეთივეა, როგორც შენი. (It's just like yours.) |
| ისევე + verb, როგორც | ისევე მღერის, როგორც დედამისი. (She sings just like her mother.) |
| ისე + არ + verb, როგორც | ისე არ ცივა, როგორც გუშინ. (It's not as cold as yesterday.) |
Use ისეთივე (isetive) with describing words such as მაღალი (tall) or გემრიელი (tasty), and ისევე with verbs. The thing after როგორც takes the same case as the thing it is compared with.
To say not as ... as, Georgian usually drops the -ვე and uses ისე with არ: დღეს ისე არ ცივა, როგორც გუშინ (it isn't as cold today as yesterday).
For a quick comparison with one noun, the ending -ივით also works: ლომივით ძლიერი (as strong as a lion).
