ჩვენი/თქვენი/მათი
Our, Your and Their
ჩვენი, თქვენი and მათი mean our, your and their.
How It Works
| Word | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ჩვენი | our, ours | ჩვენი ქალაქი ლამაზი არის. |
| თქვენი | your, yours (several, or polite) | რა არის თქვენი სახელი? |
| მათი | their, theirs | მათი შვილები სკოლაში არიან. |
Each one belongs to a pronoun: ჩვენ (we) gives ჩვენი, თქვენ (you) gives თქვენი, and ისინი (they) gives მათი.
Use თქვენი when you speak politely to one person: ქალბატონო ნინო, თქვენი ჩაი (your tea, Ms. Nino).
On their own they mean ours, yours and theirs: ეს სახლი ჩვენი არის (this house is ours).
Like ჩემი, they change a little in other cases: ჩვენს სახლში (in our house). You will learn that at Level 2.
