on (només per a llocs)
On Restricted to Places
On introduces a relative clause whose antecedent is a place.
How It Works
La sala on ens reunim identifies a room by what happens there. On can correspond to en què or en la qual when the relation is locative. A preceding preposition can express origin or direction: el poble d'on venim.
Formal editing should check abstract where translations carefully. L'article en què s'explica el procediment refers to a document containing information; l'any en què es va aprovar refers to time. A physical room can take on. These distinctions do not ban every metaphorical use in all discourse, but en què or an agreeing qual form usually makes an abstract relationship clearer and avoids treating every antecedent as a literal place.
