on (relatiu de lloc)
Relative on for Place
Relative on connects a place to an action or situation located there.
How It Works
El poble on visc identifies the village through the place where I live. On represents the location inside the relative clause; the clause describes the preceding place noun. It does not change for gender or number.
Relative on can refer to a concrete location or a context that is genuinely construed as a place. Keep the grammatical role in view: el museu on treballem contains a place complement, while el museu que visitem contains a direct object.
For an abstract relationship that is not naturally locative, prefer a construction expressing the actual link, such as el tema de què parlem or la situació en què ens trobem. A time antecedent can require quan or another appropriate relative pattern rather than a mechanical on. The choice should show how the antecedent participates in the clause, not merely imitate an English where.
