खा के

Having Done: Stem + के

Level 3Sounds Like khā kē

Stem plus के links an action to the next one.

How It Works

The stem plus के works like having done. It joins two verbs without आ.

StemWith के
बइठबइठ के
खाखा के
आआ के
करकर के, क के, कऽ के

It can mean one action first and then the next (खा के सुतऽ), or the way something is done (बइठ के पियल).

The first verb never changes for person or tense. Only the last does.

Negative: put ना or मत before the last verb, with मत for a command. The first verb stays as it is: खा के मत सुतऽ (Don't sleep right after eating).
