Requests for Later: -एव
A तुम request for later can end in -एव.
How It Works
To ask a तुम to do something at a later time, Awadhi has a special request form in -एव.
| Verb | Later request |
|---|---|
| आउब | आएव |
| जाब | जाएव |
| करब | करेव |
| बताउब | बताएव |
The ending is built on the present stem. That is why "go" is जाएव and not the past गएव. The past of आउब is also आएव, so only the time word or the sense tells them apart.
Use it with words like काल्हि (tomorrow), बाद मा (later) or जरूर (be sure). For "right now", use the plain command (आव, जाव).
It is a gentle request. In a sentence it is often paired with जरूर: काल्हि जरूर आएव (be sure to come tomorrow).
