Past with हम: -एन

Level 2Sounds Like ēna

With हम, the past of a verb with an object ends in -एन.

How It Works

The ending depends on who did the action. In the lessons, for हम it is always -एन. A man and a woman say the same thing.

Stemहम
कहकहेन
देखदेखेन
करकिहेन
जागएन
आआएन

Stems that end in a vowel add the ending straight on: खाएन (I ate). The verb to be has the same ending: रहेन.

हम means both "I" and "we", so हम कहेन can be said by one person or by a group.
