-টি for Dear Ones
A Loving Small Word: -টি
ভাইটি means “my little brother”. It is a warm word for a younger brother, as in এইটো মোৰ ভাইটি “this is my little brother”.
How It Works
ভাই is “brother”, and ভাইটি is a younger brother, said with love. The ending shows affection as well as small size.
| Form | Use | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ভাইটি | plain | এইটো মোৰ ভাইটি। |
| ভাইটিয়ে | the doer | মোৰ ভাইটিয়ে ছবি আঁকি আছে। |
| ভাইটিক | the receiver | to the little brother |
| ভাইটিৰ | “of” | of the little brother |
| ভাইটিলৈ | “to” a place or goal | to the little brother |
It stands where any noun stands: তোমাৰ ভাইটি কিমান ওখ? “how tall is your younger brother?” and মোৰ সৰু ভাইটি এতিয়াও শুই আছে “my little brother is still asleep”.
For a younger sister the common word is ভনীয়েক, and for an older brother it is ককায়েক.
