How It Works

The main clause gives the offer or outcome. The clause beginning بشرطیکہ states the condition attached to it, often in formal agreements or careful discussion.

An open condition commonly uses the subjunctive, such as ہو, ہوں or کریں. Choose its person and number from the conditional clause’s own subject.

A شرط is a requirement, not a reason already known to hold. Compare چونکہ when you want to present an actual circumstance as the reason for a decision.

  1. آپ یہ کتاب لے جا سکتے ہیں، بشرطیکہ جمعے تک واپس کر دیں۔

    You may take this book, provided that you return it by Friday.

    The permission depends on returning the book.

  2. ہم تجویز قبول کریں گے، بشرطیکہ اخراجات واضح ہوں۔

    We will accept the proposal, provided that the costs are clear.

    Plural اخراجات takes ہوں in the open condition.

  3. نشست آن لائن ہو سکتی ہے، بشرطیکہ سب متفق ہوں۔

    The session can be held online, provided that everyone agrees.

    Agreement is a condition, not an asserted fact.

  4. میں مدد کرنے کو تیار ہوں، بشرطیکہ کام کی حد مقرر ہو۔

    I am ready to help, provided that the scope of the work is defined.

    The speaker qualifies an offer with a requirement.
