Using This Pattern:

  • Placement: In the pattern taught here, ก็เลย follows an expressed subject and precedes the result predicate. If the subject is understood and omitted, ก็เลย begins the result clause in the supplied examples.

Common Mistakes

  • Leaving the final letter out of the standard written word for a doctor.

    ฉันก็เลยไปหาหม
    ฉันก็เลยไปหาหมอ

    The standard written word for a doctor is หมอ. The deliberately incorrect sentence writes หม, leaving out อ. Restore the final letter to match the correct answer. This spelling exercise keeps the result connector after the expressed subject; it does not make sentence-initial connector use a universal error.

  • Leaving the tone mark out of the standard written verb for increase.

    ประชากรเพิมขึ้น จึงเกิดปัญหา...
    ประชากรเพิ่มขึ้น จึงเกิดปัญหา...

    The standard written verb is เพิ่ม. The deliberately incorrect sentence writes เพิม without the tone mark ่. Restore that mark to match the correct answer. This spelling exercise retains the result connector จึง in both versions and does not classify ก็เลย as intrinsically incorrect in academic writing.
