Each Other
Se parlan, nos vesèm, vos telefonatz: each other.
How It Works
| Subject | Example |
|---|---|
| nosautres | Nos vesèm deman. |
| vosautres | Vos telefonatz sovent? |
| eles, elas | Se parlan cada jorn. |
The forms are the ones you already know from reflexive verbs. Only the plural makes sense here, because each other needs at least two people.
Some sentences are open to two readings. Se lavan can mean they wash themselves or they wash each other. The context usually decides. A later entry, l'un e l'autre, shows how to make it clear.
Before a vowel, se becomes s': Joan e Maria s'aiman.
Each other is a plural idea. With a singular subject, the same words are reflexive: Joan se parla means Joan talks to himself.
