Even So
तैपनि joins two sentences that clash.
How It Works
तैपनि is a linking word for two clauses. The first clause gives a reason to expect one result, and the second one, after तैपनि, goes the other way.
(It rained, yet we went.)
(He was sick, yet he came to work.)
(I waited a long time, yet they did not come.)
We write it as one word, and it usually sits at the start of the second clause. It can also follow the doer: The two-word तर पनि means the same. It is close to तर, but it stresses the surprise.
You can use तैपनि after a short pause, too, as its own sentence start: तैपनि हामी गयौँ.
