भए पनि
Although and Even Though
भए पनि means although.
How It Works
भए पनि joins two clauses that seem to clash. The first clause is true, and the second one is a surprise.
- With a describing word: यो घर सानो भए पनि सफा छ।
- With a place or state: बाटो टाढा भए पनि म हिँडेर जान्छु।
- With a finished action: थाकेको भए पनि ऊ काममा गयो।
भए is a form of हुनु, and पनि stays apart from it. The clause with भए पनि comes first.
Do not add तर in the second clause. भए पनि already gives the but. For a plain but between two sentences, use तर.

- ऊ धनी भए पनि खुसी छैन।
Although he is rich, he is not happy.
भए पनि follows धनी.
- यो घर सानो भए पनि सफा छ।
Although this house is small, it is clean.
The second clause is the surprise.
- थाकेको भए पनि ऊ काममा गयो।
Although he was tired, he went to work.
-एको comes before भए पनि.
- बाटो टाढा भए पनि म हिँडेर जान्छु।
Although the road is far, I go on foot.
भए पनि works with a place or state.
- उनले धेरै पढेका भए पनि काम पाएनन्।
Although he studied a lot, he found no job.
पढेका भए पनि agrees with the plural-form उनी.

ऊ धनी छ पनि खुसी छैन।ऊ धनी भए पनि खुसी छैन।छ पनि means also is. Although needs भए पनि.
