क्यारे
Wondering with क्यारे
क्यारे at the end of a sentence means I wonder: के गरूँ क्यारे? is what shall I do, I wonder?
How It Works
क्यारे is a particle for thinking aloud. It is placed after the whole sentence and adds the feeling of wondering or of not being sure.
| Sentence | Meaning |
|---|---|
| के गरूँ क्यारे? | What shall I do, I wonder? |
| आउलान् कि नआउलान् क्यारे। | I wonder if they will come or not. |
| चाबी कतै हराएछ क्यारे। | The key seems to be lost somewhere, I guess. |
It fits three common kinds of sentences: questions with a question word (कसले, के, किन), either-or pairs with कि, and a statement the speaker is only guessing at. The first looks for a reason or a solution that the speaker does not know. The second weighs two outcomes. The third gives a guess.
The tone is soft and a little worried. People use it in relaxed talk among friends and family, and it turns up in songs and poems. Do not use it in a formal request or a notice. For a more neutral guess, use होला.
