-एमा means if, in a formal way: तपाईं आउनुभएमा means if you come.

SpokenFormal
आउनुभए भनेआउनुभएमा
तोडे भनेतोडेमा
नभए भनेनभएमा

The verb takes the -ए form and keeps its person and respect: आउनुभएमा for a respected person, गरेमा for any plain subject. The negative uses the न- prefix: नभएमा means if there is not.

The main clause usually has -नेछ, -इनेछ or a polite instruction. It promises: खुसी हुनेछौँ. It warns: कारबाही हुनेछ. It instructs: सम्पर्क गर्नुहोस्. In relaxed talk, people say -ए भने instead.

You may also meet -एको खण्डमा, which means the same and sounds even more official.
