यदि ... भने
Stronger if with यदि
यदि ... भने frames a condition with more force than भने alone.
How It Works
यदि is a connector that opens an if clause. भने closes it. Together they make the condition stand out from the rest of the sentence.
| Form | Example |
|---|---|
| भने only | पानी परे भने हामी बस्छौँ |
| यदि ... भने | यदि पानी परे भने हामी बस्छौँ |
Both mean if it rains, we will stay. The longer form sounds firmer, and it is easier to follow in a long sentence. It fits requests, plans and warnings: यदि तपाईंलाई समय भयो भने मलाई फोन गर्नुहोस्.
The verb in the condition can be a finished form. यदि मैले पैसा पाएँ भने म किताब किन्छु (if I get the money, I will buy a book).
The result follows in the present or future, or as a command. Write भने as a separate word, and put a comma before the result if the clause is long. यदि is common in writing and careful speech.
