के साथ
With Someone
के साथ means with in the sense of together with a person or thing.
How It Works
के साथ marks the person or thing that goes along with someone: माँ के साथ, दोस्तों के साथ, मेरे साथ. Pronouns take the form ending in -े: मेरे साथ, हमारे साथ, तुम्हारे साथ, आपके साथ, उसके साथ, उनके साथ.
English with has more than one Hindi match. Choose by meaning:
- Together with someone: के साथ. मैं अमित के साथ खेलता हूँ.
- Food served with: के साथ. दाल के साथ चावल.
- Using a tool: से. वह चम्मच से खाता है.
- Talking or meeting: usually से. मैं रीमा से बात करता हूँ.
A के साथ phrase does not change the verb. मैं रीमा के साथ हूँ still uses हूँ, because मैं is the only subject. If you join the two people with और, the verb becomes plural: मैं और रीमा साथ हैं.
साथ alone means together: हम साथ खाना खाते हैं (We eat together).
