-ც (Also)

Too and Also

Level 1Sounds Like ts

Add -ც to a word to say too or also.

How It Works

EnglishGeorgian
me tooმეც
you tooშენც
Nino tooნინოც
we tooჩვენც
coffee too (as an object)ყავასაც

(Nino drinks coffee too, like someone else) and (Nino drinks coffee too, as well as tea).

Put -ც on two words to say both ... and: ნინოც და გიორგიც თბილისში ცხოვრობენ (Both Nino and Giorgi live in Tbilisi).

A quick answer: მიყვარს თბილისი! (I love Tbilisi! Me too!)

-ც is always joined to the word, with no space. After a consonant it becomes -აც (ყავასაც), except in შენც, ჩვენც and თქვენც. For me neither, Georgian says არც მე, which you will learn later with არც ... არც.

Examples (5)

    Me too!

    მე plus -ც.

    Nino is coming too.

-ც on ნინო: Nino as well as others.

    Giorgi is a doctor too.

    -ც on the person.

    Nino drinks coffee too.

ყავას ends in a consonant, so it takes -აც.

Both Nino and Giorgi live in Tbilisi.

-ც on both names means both.

Common Mistakes

  • Adding only -ც after the dative -ს.

After a consonant like the -ს, use -აც.
