Every

Level 2Sounds Like qʼoveli

ყოველი means every before a noun, and ყოველდღე means every day.

How It Works

ყოველი (q'oveli) means every. It is a describing word, so it goes before a noun.

GeorgianEnglish
ყოველი ბავშვიevery child
ყოველ საღამოსevery evening
ყოველ შაბათსevery Saturday
ყოველ წელსevery year
ყოველდღეevery day

When the noun takes the dative -ს, ყოველი drops its -ი, like other describing words that end in -ი: ყოველ საღამოს, not ყოველი საღამოს.

ყოველი and ყველა are close. ყოველი ბავშვი and ყველა ბავშვი both mean every child, and both take a singular verb. ყოველი can only come before a noun, but ყველა can also stand alone as everyone.

Every day is written as one word: ყოველდღე.
