-ო (He Said)
He Said
-ო at the end of a quote shows that someone else said it.
How It Works
| What Nino said | What you report |
|---|---|
| ხვალ მოვალ. (I'll come tomorrow.) | ხვალ მოვალო. (She says she'll come tomorrow.) |
| ბედნიერი ვარ. (I'm happy.) | ბედნიერი ვარო. (She says she's happy.) |
The -ო joins the last word of the quote with no space or hyphen.
It also passes on what people say in general: ამბობენ, ეს რესტორანი კარგიაო (they say this restaurant is good).
For a longer, more formal report, use რომ and change the person instead: ნინომ თქვა, რომ ხვალ მოვა.
-ო is only for other people's words. For your own words, use -მეთქი, and for words the listener should pass on, -თქო.
