I Said

Level 3Sounds Like metki

-მეთქი marks your own words when you repeat them: I said.

How It Works

EndingWhose wordsExample
-ოsomeone else'sხვალ მოვალო. (He says he'll come tomorrow.)
(I said I'll come tomorrow.)
-თქოmine, for the listener to pass onუთხარი, ხვალ მოვალ-თქო. (Tell him I'll come tomorrow.)

Two common uses:

(Come here right now, I said!)
  • Reporting what you told someone: (I told him okay).

It works for questions you asked too: (I asked what time it was).

Join -მეთქი (metki) with a hyphen, and keep the words just as you said them.

  • Using -ო for your own words.

-ო is for other people's words; for your own, use -მეთქი.
