Put გამო after a genitive to say because of.

How It Works

Because of + noun	Because + sentence
საცობის გამო (gamo) დავაგვიანე.	დავაგვიანე, რადგან გზაზე ბევრი მანქანა იყო.

Both say why I was late: because of the traffic, and because there were a lot of cars on the road.

The noun takes -ის, and a word that ends in -ე or -ა usually drops that vowel first: სიცხე, სიცხის გამო (because of the fever).

ამის გამო is a handy way to say that's why: ავად ვიყავი და ამის გამო ვერ მოვედი (I was sick, and that's why I couldn't come).

A person can be the cause too: ლუკას გამო დავაგვიანეთ (we were late because of Luka).

გამო is a separate word after the noun, like შესახებ.

წვიმის გამო სახლში დავრჩით.
We stayed home because of the rain.
წვიმა, წვიმის გამო.
საცობის გამო დავაგვიანე.
I was late because of the traffic.
The cause comes first.
სიცხის გამო ბავშვი სკოლაში არ წავიდა.
Because of the fever, the child didn't go to school.
სიცხე drops its -ე: სიცხის.
მატარებელი თოვლის გამო გაჩერდა.
The train stopped because of the snow.
The cause can also come after the subject.
