ან

Either ... or

Level 3Sounds Like an ... an

Put ან before each choice to say either ... or.

How It Works

(I'll go either by bus or on foot.)
(Now or never.)

The verb usually comes in the first part only. The second part leaves it out, as in the bus example.

With an order, ან ... (Either sit down or go!)

For a question, use The answer names one: ჩაი, მადლობა.

The negative partner is არც ...

Each part keeps the case its verb needs. With a future doing verb such as გავაკეთებთ, both objects are in the dative: ან ხინკალს გავაკეთებთ, ან მწვადს.
