Clitics Inside a Dependent Clause
Clitics inside a finite dependent clause attach within that clause. A conjunction or relative word at its beginning often provides the position before the clitic group.
How It Works
After da, ordinary groups include da sam ga vidjela and da mi je pisala. The relative pronoun can provide the same early position: knjiga koju sam ti posudila.
The order inside the group is preserved: sam ti je contains the first-person auxiliary, a dative pronoun and an accusative pronoun. In mi ga je, the third-person singular auxiliary je follows the object pronouns.
An embedded question has its own arrangement with li: Ne znam jesi li mu odgovorila. First find the boundaries of each finite clause; then identify the auxiliary and object pronouns belonging to its predicate.

- Ne znam jesi li mu već odgovorila.
I do not know whether you have already answered him.
