da + Content Clause
Reporting a Statement
Da can introduce what someone says, knows or thinks.
How It Works
The subject inside the da-clause does not have to match the subject of the main clause. Mislim da Ana radi separates the thinker from the person working.
Da has several functions. Here it introduces content, not a goal or purpose. The main verb and the relationship between the clauses establish that meaning.
Croatian does not require every reported present to shift mechanically into the past. Choose a tense that expresses the intended timing and viewpoint.
