Affirmative imperative for tu and vosaltres
Affirmative commands use imperative forms for tu and vosaltres.
How It Works
For regular parlar, the tu command is parla and the vosaltres command is parleu. Menjar gives menja and mengeu, with a spelling adjustment before e. The command form identifies who is being addressed; an explicit subject is usually unnecessary.
Common verbs have irregular commands, such as vine and fes, so do not create every imperative from the infinitive mechanically. An affirmative command can be a request or instruction, with tone and si us plau affecting its force.
Place weak pronouns after affirmative commands: mira'l, feu-ho, porteu-ne dos. A negative command switches to present-subjunctive forms and puts pronouns before the verb: no el miris. Thus no parla is not the normal way to tell tu not to speak.
