Regular AR Present
Regular -ar verbs use parlo, parles, parla, parlem, parleu and parlen in this present model.
How It Works
Remove -ar and add the present ending for the subject. Parlar gives parlo for jo and parlem for nosaltres. The endings -es and -en contain e, while third-person singular parla keeps a. The subject pronoun can be omitted when the verb and context make it clear.
This is a Central standard model. Valencian commonly uses jo parle and many Balearic verbs have a first-person form without -o, such as jo parl. These regional forms do not mean the verb is irregular within its own variety.
Some very common -ar verbs, including anar and estar, are irregular. Learn those separately rather than forcing them into the parlar pattern. Present tense can describe habits, current situations and scheduled future events.
