ကော
What About You?
Said about a person who is missing, it asks where that person is: အမေကော။ (Where's Mom?)
How It Works
ကော saves you from repeating a whole question. After one person answers, ask the next person the same thing with one word.
| Question | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ရှင်ကော။ | And you? |
| မနက်ဖြန်ကော။ | What about tomorrow? |
| ဒီဟင်းကော ကြိုက်လား။ | And this curry, do you like it? |
| အမေကော။ | Where's Mom? |
When the person is not there, the question means where is…?. A child home from school asks အမေကော။ to find Mom.
For also in a statement, use လည်း: ကျွန်မလည်း သွားမယ်။ (I'll go too).
ကော always follows the word it asks about, and the short question needs no other ending.
